Cassie Patten – Open Water Coaching

Bude Sea Pool was the venue for some fantastic open water coaching from its ambassador, Beijing Olympics 10k Open Water swimming bronze medallist, Cassie Patten.
With local people increasingly competing in open water events, such as the Channel Challenge held on Sat 10th Oct, it was decided to tag on an open water coaching session the next day, Sun 11th Oct to not only raise funds for the sea pool but to provide expert tuition to improve performance.
Fifteen swimmers turned up for the open water sessions which focused predominantly on breathing, head position, spotting, body rotation and arm propulsion. Everybody came away having received high quality technique feedback and keenly await the next session, hopefully next year when the water is warmer!
Following the success of this first session, it is envisaged that with Cassie’s continued strong support of the Sea Pool we will look to hold more coaching sessions..watch this space a coaching opportunity not to be missed!
