Scrummy Cream Teas Raise Over £500.00

Hundreds of scones, gallons of clotted cream and lashings of strawberry jam were devoured by happy holidaymakers and enthusiastic locals on Bank Holiday Sunday, thanks to the efforts of friends and neighbours Angie Pearce, Christine Thomas and Norah Bosworth. The ladies baked batches of scones for days in advance which were served at Summerleaze Crescent, just a short stroll from the Sea Pool itself. They raised over £550 – a substantial contribution to the Sea Pool’s repair fund.

Angie Pearce says: ‘we were assisted by a wonderful band of helpers without whose hard work it wouldn’t have been possible to raise so much.’ Seen here with Angie, Christine and Norah are Chrissy, Lee and Caroline, Kathy and Paul and Marjory; while John and Marian (not pictured) were also a great help.

Work starts on the sea wall renovation this autumn, and this donation helps FoBSP get closer to the £25,000 we need to pay for the next stage of these vital repairs. So we’re very grateful to Angie, Christine, Norah and their helpers, and to everyone who attended or gave a donation on the day. Thanks to everyone involved!
