Bude Sea Pool needs you – Become a Volunteer !
Whether you’re 8 or 80, were born locally, have moved here recently, swim in the Sea Pool or just like being around it, we’d love to meet you and show you what we do. Why? – Because we’re always on the lookout for like-minded people to join us and help keep the Sea Pool accessible today and for decades to come.
Without the support of our team of Volunteers it would be impossible to keep Bude Sea Pool open and operational. Each and every Volunteer makes a crucial difference every time they lend a hand. A free hour every week, an afternoon once a month or whatever time you can spare, it all adds up to maintaining and preserving our unique local hot-spot – and it’s fun!
What can I do as a Volunteer?
Running the charity that keeps the Sea Pool open is just like running a business. There are lots of activities that need to be managed and tasks that need to be done – almost on a daily basis. This is why we need a rich mix of personalities, skills, experiences, brains, muscles, and smiles!
Perhaps you, or somebody you know, would like to help out with:
- Helping at fund-raising events
- Baking cakes for events
- Manning our shop
- Clearing away the high-tide pebbles and storm debris
- DIY and painting the beach huts
- Running some of our social media pages
- Offering your particular professional expertise to our Committee – such as Media & PR, Marketing, Graphic Design or Event Management
….. How much time would I have to offer? …..
No regular commitment is required, it’s a very flexible arrangement to suit your circumstance. An hour or two every week or just whenever you are free would be greatly appreciated.
….. I have just moved to the Bude area and don’t know anyone! …..
Becoming a FoBSP Volunteer is a fantastic way to meet new people and become part of a friendly social group of all ages and backgrounds. We all love living in or near to Bude and it’s a great and productive way to get involved in the community.
If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer, why not come along to the Volunteer Information Week or come to a Coffee Morning to find out more about the charity and how you could help.
….. Monthly Volunteer Coffee Mornings …..
Clear out your diary as every month we hold a Volunteer Coffee Morning. This is where Volunteers and FoBSP Committee and staff get together to meet and find out the latest information and developments at the Sea Pool.
In the summer all the Volunteer Coffee Mornings are held at the HUB above the Sea Pool. These dates are (all at 1030):
Due to the Government’s new restrictions on social gatherings (issued on 9 September 2020), we are not able to plan and announce any further coffee mornings.
….. Bude Sea Pool definitely needs you! …..
Each year brings new challenges and it is only the energy and dedication of our Volunteers that ensures Bude Sea Pool remains open and free to use.
We are a very friendly bunch so don’t be shy in offering your time. Pop into the Bude Sea Pool shop (located at Summerleaze car park entrance), have a chat and a cuppa and find out more, or why not spread the word and bring family and friends to one of our coffee mornings?
We’re pretty tech-savy too, so say hello on our Facebook page or send an email to our Trustee and Volunteer Manager Frances Faulkner at email@example.com. or call the office on 01288 488118 and we can call you back.
