Ian McNeice Charity Evening raised over £2000

A CHARITY event in aid of Bude Sea Pool with actor Ian McNeice has raised more than £2,000.

More than 80 people were at the town’s Falcon Hotel on Saturday evening where they watched a short film about the actor, who plays Bert Large in the popular TV series Doc Martin, heard of his career and were able to ask questions.

Chairman of the Friends of Bude Sea Pool Paul Tilzey said: “It was excellent. A good social night much appreciated by all those who attended.

“He talked about his career and there was a short film of all the things he had done and is still doing, which was quite fascinating.”

Mr Tilzey added the money will go partly towards the security aspect at the pool, if it can be improved, and that the friends are liaising with police on the matter.

FoBSP ‘Pop Up Shop’

We are delighted to announce that we have opened a Save Bude Sea Pool ‘pop-up’ shop in Bude for the summer season!

Triangle Eatates have loaned us (free of charge) the empty ex Vision Express shop on Belle Vue until September which we are overjoyed about as you can imagine! We will use this shop as our window to highlight the importance of our pool, why it needs saving, promoting and selling our range of merchandise.

Thank you to Clare and Peter at The Candy Shop and Bude Sports for loaning our fixtures and fittings, North Coast Wines for their IT support, Kings Hill Furniture for lending us two chairs and finally to Wroes for giving us hangers to display our range of hoodies and tee-shirts.
