Update – May 2022

We are delighted to announce that the Pool is full once more now that the Spring Works are complete. All in time for Half Term. Thank you to Vanstones for a terrific job and to all the volunteers who took part in the works surrounding the Pool. Welcome back, everyone, it’s time to jump back in.

Volunteer Coffee Mornings

The coffee mornings are returning! A chance to get together for a good old social.
Please find some dates below to pop into your diary.

We very much look forward to seeing you there.

Can you please email volunteer@budeseapool.org the week before  to say when you intend to go? This is so we have an idea of numbers and it would be most appreciated.  Many thanks.

Unfortunately, the coffee morning planned for the 1st June has had to be postponed until the 8th June, (still at Crooklets cafe at 10.30).
This is due to a couple of reasons, one being possible lack of parking spaces in town, particularly in the main Summerleaze car park.
We hope to see you on the 8th June instead.

June 8th – Crooklets Cafe – 1030am

September 14th – Rosie’s Kitchen 1030am

October 5th – Brendon Arms – 1030am

November 2nd – Little Pig Farm cafe – 1030am

December 7th – Edgcumbe Hotel – 12 Midday

Update – May 2022

Annual Draining of Bude Sea Pool
We would like to make all users of and visitors to Bude Sea Pool aware that from next Monday 9th May that Bude Sea Pool will not be available for use. It will be drained to allow for dredging and removing all the silt, sand and rocks that accumulate over the year. A further update will be given when it is in use once more.

The works will be undertaken by local company Vanstones who do a fantastic job for us each and every year. Please give Vanstones the space they need to conduct the work safely and efficiently.

This annual exercise has always cost the Friends of Bude Sea Pool in the region of £30,000. We ask for your support to help us meet the additional £10,000K premium that has been newly added this year by Vanstone’s insurance company to work below the tide line. Friends of Bude Sea Pool is expected to meet the cost.

Update – May 2021

FoBSP are delighted to announce that Bude Sea Pool has re-opened following its annual spring repairs, refurbishment and enhancements.  The contractors worked tirelessly in some horrendous weather conditions and did a wonderful job. Thank you to Vanstones, Stainless Studio Ltd and to Bott. Thank you also to the army of volunteers who showed up to do their part. Keeping Bude Sea Pool up and running is truly a community effort. And all in time for half-term. Looking forward to seeing you all back down at the Pool.
