DESCRIPTION:Come and see Ian’s stunning photographic study of our winter swimming community at Bude Sea Pool.  For Ian’s MA work he has made Bude Sea Pool his focus throughout his studies.  He has even joined the winter swimmers in cold dipping himself! Open from 10-6 daily over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.  He will also be offering talks at 11am & 2pm daily.\n\nHere is Ian’s introduction to the images:\n\nThe Sea Pool\, a liminal space between land and sea\, a transitional space between tides\, a place where humanity connects with nature in a space shaped by human activity. Where the going in and the coming out of its swimmers resonates with the ebb and flow of its tidal rhythm. \n‘Winter haven’ investigates the spatial\, physical\, sensory\, social\, and emotional relationships between Bude Sea Pool’s community of swimmers and volunteers sustaining itself through the winter months.

DESCRIPTION:A special night in Week St Mary with double Ivor Novello Award-winning lyricist and enigma Chris Difford who has brought us characters and sketches from everyday life\, turning the mundane into the beautiful\, the urbane into the exquisite\, for over 30 years. He is an English singer\, musician\, songwriter\, and record producer and was a founding member and songwriter of the British group Squeeze. \n“Being on tour is something I really enjoy\, seeing people and being with people is part of my experience as a performer.\nI will be playing songs from the Squeeze catalogue and from the solo albums I have recorded over the last 23 years. My story is told though stand up and some sit down\, a trip back to my council estate in South London\, from my very first lyrical expression to the dressing rooms of this show.\nMy new songs written with Boo Hewerdine tell a story of celebration\, 25 years writing lyrics and playing on stages big and small. A journey I look back on with great fondness and gratitude.\nI cant wait to climb back on stage and perform\, although I have been shy in the past I now find myself feasting on the here and now deep within the shell-like of your ear.I will be joined on stage by Melvin Duffy on his peddle steel and together we will deliver an evening of warm and I hope funny stories. Melvins playing is outstanding and I feel so lucky to have him as my sideman\, he cries over the songs and makes them sound always amazing. ‘Not Only But Also’ is not just a look back on 50 lyrical years\, it’s a journey that asks\, What Happened? DESCRIPTION:The floodlights will be on for the hour for a spot of night swimming.  Please note that you visit the pool and swim entirely at your own risk. Please sign in at the hub before changing and there will be no entry in the water until the volunteer spotters are in place poolside. We ask that you wear a headtorch when swimming or use a tow float with a light in it so that you can been seen in the water at all times. Please bring your lidded cup as hot drinks will be available in the hub afterwards.  The hub will close at 6.45 so last entry in the water will be 6.15. Please bring a £2 donation. Many thanks.
