Local businesses embrace Visitor Giving
The Friends of Bude Sea Pool (FoBSP) received a welcome donation to their fundraising efforts this month thanks to Wooda Farm Holiday Park’s introduction of the charity’s new Visitor Giving initiative.
Charlotte Veale from Wooda presented a cheque for £412 raised directly from guests who opted-in to donating £1.00 on top of their holiday cost when booking a stay with the multi-award winning park on its website.
“Visitor Giving, also known as Visitor Payback or Visitor Gifting, is a simple way of inviting voluntary donations from visitors, inspiring them to give a little something back to looking after the places they love,” explained Tracey Robinson, FoBSP’s Visitor Giving Co-ordinator who helped implement the initiative after booking a holiday in Dorset and seeing it in action for a charity there.
“Our Visitor Giving programme harnesses the goodwill of visitors and businesses alike by joining together to help provide the essential funds that Bude Sea Pool needs to remain open, free and safe for everyone to enjoy. It helps to connect visitors, locals and businesses alike with Bude Sea Pool in a positive and meaningful way and helps build awareness of its natural wonders. Wooda is the first local business to partner with FoBSP in this way and we’re very grateful to the team and their guests for their support,” added Tracey.
“We are proud to be long-term sponsors of Bude Sea Pool and thrilled to have received such fantastic support from guests who have donated whilst booking their stays with virtually nobody opting out of the scheme,” said Charlotte. “Incorporating Visitor Giving into our booking systems was simple, straightforward and cost-free, and it helps us build strong and positive links with our visitors. We’re sure this cheque will be the first of many, bigger ones to come!”
Other Bude-based businesses that have joined FoBSP as Visitor Giving partners include Aspects Holidays, Bude TIC, Peter Bull Resorts, Shorebreak, The Falcon and The Edgcumbe.
