SUMMARY:Channel Challenge 2026
DESCRIPTION:Reserve your team’s place for the Channel Challenge swimming event September 2026 \n  \nThe swim will be held on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September.  Teams will swim the equivalent length of the Channel and ‘get’ to France.  On Sunday teams  (different ones) will swim the equivalent length back to England. \n  \nThe event will start each day from 7:30am until 6:30pm (or until the last swimmer has finished). \n  \nPlease note this is a fun\, fund-raising event for the pool for both elite and recreational swimmers.  The English channel is 22 miles wide and so 20 lengths of Bude Sea Pool equates to one mile. Teams can be a mixture of those individuals wanting to do several miles\, to those wanting to challenge themselves with a half to one mile as well. \n  \nWe will encourage fast swimmers to use the usual lane rope which we put in the pool for the event\, so slower swimmers can use the rest of the pool to complete their challenge. Drinks and refreshments will be free for all swimmers during the day. \n  \nThe swim challenge is very popular with places available for 15 teams each day (of up to around 20 members as a rough guide) so please reserve your team’s place today by emailing \neventslead@budeseapool.org \n  \nTeam places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.  The cost for each team place is still £140. \n  \nPlease head your email Channel Challenge 2026\, tell us where your team is travelling from and please indicate which day you would prefer your team to swim or if you have no preference. (The Saturday would be ideal for teams who are travelling a distance\, and Sunday would be ideal for more local teams.)
