Low Tide Options

There are three options what allow you to get to the Pool at low tide by crossing the long flat beach. With each of them, you follow the headland on your right and access the Pool by climbing two short flights of steps from the Beach up to the Pool.

Take the flat path that goes straight out from the car park on to the beach. You will have to go down the sandy downs before you get to the flat.

Take the upper access road to the nearest café, ‘Life’s a Beach’. Walk in front of the café and between the beach huts and then take one of two paths:

a set of concrete then metal steps down to the beach, or
a rugged stone ramp

Low, Medium and High Tide Option

There is one frequented used route to the Pool from Summerleaze Car Park at medium and high tide. Take the upper access road from the beach end of the car park to the nearest café, ‘Life’s a Beach’. Follow the small winding path up behind the café to join the coastal path that follows the top of the cliffs. You will access the Pool by descending a steep flight of concrete steps from the Lifeguard Hut.

The route above which follows the small winding path behind Life’s a Beach is not viable for wheelchairs. If you have limited mobility, you might find it easier to use the exit road from the car park and take a left along Summerleaze Crescent, passing in front of The Deck and The Beach Hotel. You will then access the Downs along to the beach with a flatter approach.
