  • Friends of Bude Sea Pool (FoBSP) formed and charitable status achieved
2012

  • FoBSP awarded a £50k start-up grant by Cornwall Council to take over management of Bude Sea Pool
  • Emergency repairs to steps completed
  • Beach Huts Phase 1: installation and leasing
2013

  • Repairs made to damaged outer South wall of the Pool
  • 30,000 tonnes of sand and rocks removed
  • New sluice-gate and bridge installed
  • Electricity and mains water connection

  • Middle outer wall repaired
  • Improved walkway cut through Coach Rock
  • New stainless steel railings by donation
2015

  • North outer wall repaired
  • Beach Huts Phase 2: further huts installed by personal donation
  • Renewal of access steps
  • Approval for the construction of the Hub granted
2016

  • The Hub opened (changing rooms, office, store, community room)
2017

  • Further repairs to sea wall
  • FoBSP Office and Shop converted from redundant Council building
2020

  • Re-concreting and re-nosing of 1st terrace platform
  • Sluice gate repaired after serious storm damages
  • Defibrillator installed

  • New steps for Middle Beach entrance
  • New stainless steel fencing to reduce impact of rock fall by cliff face

  • Repair and refurbishment of stainless steel railings
  • Installation of steps into the Pool by Coach Rock by personal donation

  • Renewal of Cornish granite steps to Summerleaze Beach thanks to the ‘Save our Steps’ campaign
  • Installation of new roof covering for the Hub

  • Replacement of Beach Hut 3 that was destroyed by Storm Eunice
  • Trial outdoor changing hut erected on upper terrace
