Many local businesses support Bude Sea Pool simply to do just that, they ‘support’ it. The Pool couldn’t be where it is at without such a community. In a small reciprocal community such as Bude, promoting each other also brings more trade to the economy, encouraging people to visit and to buy locally.
By supporting Friends of Bude Sea Pool (FoBSP), local businesses gain the opportunity to advertise to FoBSP’s members, visitors, and a much wider audience. Business Sponsor listings are published in the annual handbook, displayed on noticeboards, and featured on the FoBSP website.
Additionally, each Business Sponsor receives a shout-out on the charity’s social media channels. FoBSP’s growing online audience includes 27,000 Facebook followers and 9,000 Instagram followers. Research suggests that 66% of businesses in Bude prefer online interactions.
In the new year, Jodie, our Communications Manager, and her team of volunteers will be visiting local businesses to invite them to join or renew their sponsorship. The scheme runs annually from April. Once sponsors confirm and pay, they provide us with their listings and advertisements, which are featured in the annual handbook published each spring. This is then distributed to all Friends, either digitally or in hard copy.
