The Gill Gannon Cup

Welcome to the 3rd Friends of Bude Sea Pool Annual Golf Competition.

FoBSP & Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club invite you for a fun filled day in order to support Friends of Bude Sea Pool a local charity that owns and manages the renowned Bude Sea Pool and receives no local funding. We are also using this day to remember our late colleague Gill Cannon who was a passionate supporter of the Sea Pool.

The date for the competition is the Friday 29th August

The day will be a 3BBB with the best two scores counting. A number of competitions and prizes will be awarded along the day for nearest to the pin on all of the Par 3’s.

About Gill

Gill was a passionate supporter of Bude Sea Pool. She was born in Crediton and first visited the Sea Pool at the age of 3 and learnt to swim there a little later. Her father’s career took the family to London but she continued to visit Crediton and Bude in school holidays. In London she trained as a solicitor, met her husband, Chris, raised a family but returned to Bude and the Sea Pool whenever she could. After, the arrival of their grandchildren they came to Bude every year and Gill instilled in her whole family her love of the Sea Pool. When, Gill and Chris moved to Bude from the Cotswolds Gill threw herself into supporting Bude Sea Pool becoming an active committee member and Trustee. Tragically at age 70, Gill died very suddenly from a heart attack in March 2023 and is much missed by everyone.
